Kitecamp in Brazil

The last kitesurfing gem

Who doesn't dream of the kitesurfing conditions in Brazil – sandy, flat lagoons, white beaches, and consistent, strong winds? But let's be honest: do we really want to be crammed into perfect flat water with countless other kitesurfing enthusiasts in November, fighting over the next awesome wave? We don't. So we set out to find a spot for our Brazil kitesurfing camp that would meet our needs – far from the kitesurfing tourist traps. And we found it: pure Brazil! The last kitesurfing gem on the stunning Brazilian coast.

For some, the journey of several days to our secluded beach might be a deal-breaker. For others, a place in the middle of nowhere, where there are no luxuries and internet access is only available upside down in the tallest palm tree (goodbye, workation!), might not be the perfect kiteboarding holiday destination. But for those who fancy a bit of Robinson Crusoe-style adventure, enjoy kiteboarding on pristine beaches, and want to really improve and experience things in mirror-smooth water, small waves, or larger swells, our Brazil kiteboarding camp is the perfect choice.
Only those who were actually there will know exactly where we found what we were looking for.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere

Spot & Wind in Brasilien

November in Brazil falls in the middle of the dry season, offering stable weather and exceptionally reliable winds. Consistent trade and thermal winds provide almost daily perfect conditions along the northern coast, with winds of around 18 to 30 knots. Add to that warm air and water temperatures, and you can usually go out on the water without a wetsuit – but don't forget sunscreen.

Honestly, it's worth making the long journey to enjoy the beauty of Brazil and this spot – away from all the crowds. Nestled in virtually untouched nature are two restaurants and two accommodations, one of which is occupied by us.

Right outside our door are two shallow lagoons; beyond the sandbar are larger waves, and a little further on, smaller ones. The entire coastline, with its rivers, mangrove forests, and dunes, is perfect for downwinders and fantastic explorations. Every time we kite there, we wonder (admittedly with a grin on our faces) why there's hardly anyone else on the water.

Accommodation at the kitesurfing gem

"Accommodation right on the spot" takes on a whole new meaning at Kitecamp Brazil. Those seeking a true adventure can sleep directly on the beach in one of the beachfront huts and check the current wind conditions from the comfort of their beds. In the main building, the Pousada, we offer double and triple rooms – some even have private whirlpools with a view. Nearby, our stilt house with its terrace beckons, promising pure relaxation. And for those who can't get enough of the water, there's also a private pool on the premises.

We'll be treated to a hearty Brazilian breakfast every day, featuring fresh fruit, eggs, muesli, and pastries. During the day and evening, two small restaurants are conveniently located nearby. Upon your arrival at our campsite, we'll plan a short shopping trip to one of the local shops.

Detailed information about the kite camp in Brazil

We have briefly summarized all the useful information for you.

Das Camp besteht aus dem Anreisetag, der frühmorgens in Cumbuco startet, 10 Tagen Kitecamp im Norden Brasiliens, und dem Abreisetag, der abends wieder in Cumbuco endet.

The kite camp includes 5 days of coaching for your maximum progress and 5 days of supervision, which we use for practicing and kitesurfing together, for example by kitesurfing along the coast.

The area is extremely diverse, and depending on our taste and the tide, we kite in shallow lagoons, along the coast on the open sea, or in the waves.

No, kite equipment is not included in this kite camp in Brazil.

So that you don't just build up your muscles while towing your kite and otherwise sit around waiting for better wind, we also offer you our equipment for rent.

Whether you're kiting on land or on the water, in strong or light winds – we have the right equipment for you! This means you can travel much more carefree, use twin-tip or waveboards as you please, and enjoy new kites from top brands like Flysurfer, Core, Ozone, Harlem, or Duotone, and spend more time on the water overall.

Good to know: Our equipment rental includes kites and boards. If you don't have your own harness or want to rent one, let us know. If you don't have your own wetsuit yet, we will be happy to advise you with buying one or support you with renting on site.

The kite camp includes 5 days of coaching for your maximum progress plus 5 days of supervision.

  • 5 days coaching
Kite coaching in flat water or at a wave spot. Depending on the current tide and what you would like to perfect.
  • 5 days supervision
to explore the area and do a downwinder or two.

The Community Camp for the Deaf includes 10 days of supervision.

We live amidst the virtually untouched landscape of the northern Brazilian coast. For our kite camp, we've rented a small pousada with several accommodation options. Those who prefer solid walls sleep in the main house, while those seeking adventure stay in a stilt house or one of the beachfront huts right on the sand. The accommodation isn't luxurious, but it's functional and far removed from the typical Brazilian kite tourism scene.

A hearty breakfast is included at Kitecamp Brazil. Two restaurants are located nearby for lunch and group dinners. Meat eaters will definitely find plenty to enjoy, but vegetarians will also find options on the menu.

We recommend Fortaleza as your arrival airport. Cumbuco is about a 1.5-hour drive away, where you'll meet the pick-up truck at 8:00 AM on your arrival day. The exact meeting point in Cumbuco will be announced later during the trip preparations.

Ideally, you should arrive the day before and book a night in a small pousada through a booking platform so you can start the day trip from Cumbuco to our kitesurfing spot well-rested. Please also remember to bring provisions and plenty of drinks for the rather long journey.

Internet:
There is no Wi-Fi in our accommodation. You can buy SIM cards at the airport to stay connected. Texting or even making WhatsApp calls is usually possible. However, the bandwidth is unlikely to be sufficient for remote work or streaming videos in the evening.

Visa:
No visa is required in Brazil for tourist stays of up to 90 days.

Money:
Even on our remote stretch of coast, card payments are generally accepted. However, we recommend carrying a small amount of cash as a precaution in case of problems with the card readers (e.g., internet connection issues). It's best to bring some euros and exchange them for Brazilian reais at the airport exit, as withdrawing cash directly at the airport was very expensive.
