Cape Town Special - "All In"
Cape Town is the last LakeUnited Camp of the year. And we think that's a reason to go all out. So we want to go „all in“ and combine the skills of our top coaches for you in one camp. That means: Instead of wasting time and effort with trial and error, you'll receive a ton of input in the form of intensive workshops and on-the-water supervision. In which discipline? You decide for yourself. Or you can simply try both!
In South Africa for you, included

Accommodation in Langebaan and Cape Town
At the South Africa Kite Camp, we'll spend one week in Langebaan and one week in Cape Town. In both locations, we'll be housed within walking distance of the beach with a direct view of the water. Our accommodations leave nothing to be desired: In Langebaan, we'll stay in modern villas overlooking the entire Shark Bay lagoon. In Cape Town, we'll reside in apartments within a hotel complex directly on the white sand beach of Blouberg, with views of Table Mountain and a guarantee of fantastic sunsets.
Our accommodations do have kitchens, but we'll hardly cook, as there's so much fantastic food available to eat out.
Versatility is the name of the game
Conditions in Langebaan and Cape Town
In Langebaan, about 130 km west of Cape Town, the cozier side of South Africa awaits us: fantastic turquoise-blue, seemingly endless shallow water with smaller waves – perfect for acclimatizing, really improving your skills and tricks, and truly enjoying it for the first time.
In the second week, we're heading to Blouberg near Cape Town. Here, miles of sandy beach and the “Cape Doctor” await us – the warm, constant wind of about 20-45 knots from the southeast, which provides perfect kitesurfing conditions in Cape Town. It's also responsible for the small to quite large waves that are ideal for honing jumping technique and especially jump height, or for kicking it into high gear with strapless riding.
To participate in the kite camp in South Africa, you must definitely be able to ride upwind reliably (equivalent to VDWS Level 5). You will spend the maximum amount of time on the water and receive continuous tips on how to improve your skills. Additionally, we will host selected workshops on jump techniques, kiteloops, and wave kiting.
Discover and enjoy South Africa
While you can slow down in Langebaan, relax in the dreamlike surroundings of the national park, and perfectly concentrate on kiting, Cape Town awaits with diverse opportunities and experiences.
Cape Town is a melting pot of different cultures, traditions, lifestyles, and cuisines (keyword: OMG-culinary). The area is similarly versatile in terms of activities, with its bays and beaches, surrounding wineries, and mountains like Table Mountain, Lion's Head, or Devil's Peak.
There is so unbelievably much to discover in South Africa: adventurous excursions, dreamlike beaches, incredibly good food, wine tastings, and much more. Depending on where we want to go, we rent cars or travel very flexibly with Uber.
Detailed information about the kitecamp South Africa
We have briefly summarized all the useful information for you.
Travel, transfer and transport
You'd best book a flight to Cape Town.
Since we have two destinations planned in South Africa, we'll need rental cars at Cape Town airport already. In our WhatsApp group, we're organizing carpools and the joint drive to Langebaan in advance.
Catering
Everyone can customize the meal according to their preferences, which is why catering in the kite camp is not included.
South Africa has an incredible amount to offer culinarily. Therefore, we will decide together on-site which of the excellent restaurants we will go to.
Also good to know: South Africa is really inexpensive when it comes to food.
Accommodation
In Langebaan, we live in a small complex with several villas, two of which we will be occupying. Essentially, the rooms are double rooms but have single beds.
In Cape Town, we are staying at a hotel complex right on the beach with a view of Table Mountain. Apartments for a maximum of 4 people are available here. There is a large double bed (good for couples) and a room with 2 single beds.
Supervision
Our highly trained LakeUnited coaches are always on site at each of our camps. LakeUnited coaches are passionate about your progress. It's not just years of experience that make up their skills. Their trained eye, attention to detail and precise instructions enable you to get better at kitesurfing easily and in a short time.
As part of LakeUnited Supervision we ensure the perfect conditions and safety at the spot. In addition, we enable real progress on the water and the further development of your kite skills. We select the right spot on site, support you in choosing the right equipment and give you personal tips for your individual progress - so that you can get the most out of it.
Depending on the wind and weather, we hold workshops on different topics. We share all our knowledge and tricks with you and answer all your questions to make you a better kiter.
Kite equipment
We recommend kites of 5-10 m², maximum 12 m². When the Cape Doctor blows, 75-80 kg riders sometimes need a 7.
So that you don't just build up your muscles while towing your kite and otherwise sit around waiting for better wind, we also offer you our equipment for rent.
Whether on land or on the water, strong or weak wind - we always have the right equipment for you! So you travel much more carefree, use a twint tip or a wave board and new kites from top brands like Flysurfer, Core, Ozone or Duotone and have more time on the water overall.
Good to know: Our equipment rental includes kites and boards. If you don't have your own harness or want to rent one, let us know. If you don't have your own wetsuit yet, we will be happy to advise you with buying one or support you with renting on site.
Insurance
Travel insurance: We're not insurance agents, but we're committed to offering you comprehensive travel insurance. And in truth, cancellation and travel insurance does make sense. You can choose an insurance package when booking.
Equipment insurance: With the insurance tool of the Association of German Water Sports Schools (VDWS) you are insured against damage to your own equipment or to the rental equipment. This has often saved us stress, which is why we definitely recommend the VDWS Safety Tool! You can find more information about this https://www.vdws.de/safetytool/VY99056
