Who ultimately makes the decision for family vacation? The dad would like to go there, but the mom has an objection? What are the conditions for a family vacation where everyone is happy? Do individual family members always have to make compromises? Mom is kiting and Dad is staying off the water trying grumpily to read a book? The best thing would be the joint decision and not the process according to clichés.
The Most important part: it has to be satisfying for the whole family to get only happy faces in the family album.Â
'Go, ask mom. I don´t mind...'
mind..."We believe that Denmark covers just about everything for a perfect family kite holiday. There are beautiful houses that you can rent relatively cheaply, you get a lot of nature and exciting activities and unique kite spots. Two moms can tell you firsthand whether this is really the case. We asked kiting moms Collin (daughter Lara) and Vanessa (daughter Solene) about their kite holiday with kids in Denmark.

LakeUnited: What were the first impressions? Can you share them with us?Â
Vanessa: On the way from the airport to the house, I knew that Denmark could become my favorite country. When I arrived at the house and held a glass of red wine in front of the fireplace, I was able to relax immediately. I forgot my cell phone in the car and didn't even notice until the next morning. The bright eyes of Solene confirmed my feeling and I almost had to cry for joy when a "Hygge" playlist sounded through the living room.
LakeUnited: Why did you choose Denmark?
Vanessa: Haha, to be honest I saw the LakeUnited video and it made me feel so much. I wanted to book a flight and go there straight away. Additionally, the date fit well into my schedule and the flights were very cheap.
LakeUnited: Would you recommend Denmark? If so, why?
Collin: You don't need much but get a lot in return. I've been to some beautiful countries before, but I haven't had that incredibly relaxed, cozy feeling anywhere else.
Vanessa: I like the climate and the serenity in this country. The clocks turn a lot slower than ours. It is the perfect travel destination for a family vacation, as it is nice and warm, but not oppressively hot and the range of activities on offer is enormous, therefore a week could be almost too short.
LakeUnited: How did the kids feel about the time in the north?
Collin: Lara was totally thrilled. She absolutely wants to go there again and preferably take everyone she loves with her. Simply so that everyone can see it. As for kitesurfing: Lara did her first few meters on the board in both directions. Completely alone, can you imagine that? The "monastery" spot is of course just awesome in this regard. I will never forget her radiance after kiting.
Vanessa: I have never seen Solene so deeply relaxed and recovered. She loved heating up the fireplace together, using the sauna and indoor pool in the evening and when I told her that we would spontaneously extend the vacation, she was really happy. Every day had been kiting on land and in the water. She even managed to glide over the water alone with a wave rider and a Flysurfer Viron in 6sqm. I wouldn't have thought it was possible, since she was just a 7-year-old.Â

LakeUnited: What did you enjoy the most?
Collin: We were totally thrilled - really speechless about the landscape. You definitely want to spend and share this feeling of comfort and tranquility with your loved ones. Everything you see and feel. We were so different people and everyone, young or old, had the same feeling, HYGGE.
Vanessa: The house, the dunes, the lighthouse, the community and the extraordinary flat water when kiting.
LakeUnited: the ultimate tip for this family vacation?
Collin: if you're looking for the perfect mix, Denmark is the place for you. Lara and I have made incredible kite progress and have really learned to love it. In Kloster you will find shallow water and a standing area where even the little ones never lose their feet. And there is not too much traffic on the water, so you can easily lose a few meters in height. Tip? Oh yes - my tip: just go to Denmark. This is my tip. You will love it.Â
Vanessa: The 'WOW Park'. An ultimate tip for families is a park in the middle of the forest, where both children and adults get their money's worth. You can spend a whole day here without getting bored. You can grill bread at the campfire, carve your way through a labyrinth, stroke goats and go from tree to tree at high altitude over bridges.
LakeUnited:Â What was special about your holiday in Denmark?
Vanessa: I think the special thing was that the country alone spreads so much love and serenity that you immediately feel comfortable. The local people know no hurry and it immediately invites you to slow down. I have never had a vacation filled with as much emotion as the Family Denmark vacation. We enjoyed the time as a family so much that I have already booked the flight for the next year and have already entered the date in red on the calendar.
LakeUnited: And the best places?
Vanessa: My absolute favorite place was the lighthouse. The landscape and the sea, the dunes and these endless widths impressed me very much. For kiting there is the spot "Kloster", where you can spend time with the family protected from the wind in small houses when you are not in the water. Also the surf shop in Hvide Sande, because it has the very best coffee.
Collin: Oh yes, as a tip for the kitespot Kloster. If you go there with children, you should make sure you have enough snacks and changing clothes, as there are no opportunities to shop directly on the beach and you would have to drive to the next shop by car if you get hungry.
LakeUnited:Â What would you do differently next time?
Vanessa: Book 10-14 days instead of a week and plan a day in Billund on arrival or departure to visit Legoland. And next time I want to see the lighthouse at night!
Collin: I don't think I would do anything differently. Nothing at all ... kiting kids, kiting mums and everyone happy and extremely relaxed.Â
LakeUnited: Any final words you want to ad?
Collin: A house with a fireplace and sauna. A cool environment, fleece socks, a book, a nice game, legendary kite spots. Can you imagine it? - You just need a lot of time, because you just don't want to go home anymore.
Vanessa: If you are looking for a place to relax with lots of opportunities for activities, Denmark is the place for you.
